How long?

13 Jul How long?

We’ve learned that the average waiting time for assessment of needs for treatment, care and rehabilitation is now 5 months!

This is shocking and goes against every expert medical advice for people – especially young people living with brain injury. There should be no or as few gaps as possible and as the 5 months doesn’t mean the start of treatment or rehab then some people might wait almost a year before they can start trying to rebuild their lives.

This is not fair. Would we ask heart, cancer or diabetes patients to wait so long?

The answer to that is no and we don’t.
